NY 2005 - Day 4

Saturday was a sleep in day. Nani and I went to breakfast at about 1pm. Afterwards I strolled Central Park while Nani got her hair done. We (jdate friend) wandered around the park, chatted and watching street performers. Nani came and met us at Bethesda Fountain when she was done. Great weather! Lovely day to be in the park.

Later my cousin Danny met picked us up at the park. We drove up to Harlem. Got cleaned up and went to a loft art exhibit of Nani's brother in law. This was quite an interesting event. First, the theme was "Red Light District". In other words, sexual/human body related. The art wasn't so risque that I found it offensive or over the top. The most interesting thing? 3 models, topless, with their bodies painted wandering around. Yeah...not for tzinus/modest etc. All in all, interesting.

We drove over to the Brooklyn Museum for the free event. It was much larger than expected, but still managed to find the 8 or so people that met us there. The music was a bit loud but good. All African dancing and drumming (see my cousin vogueing to it :) ) We headed over to a bar in the village after that. We had a few drinks, laughed, goofed around and had an all in all relaxing and fun day.
