Things Kids Say...
As a teacher, there are constantly moments that make us laugh, and sometimes even keel over in laughter. Today I am doing a "most of the day" grading session trying to get my student's 4.5 - 6 page research papers graded and back to them so they can work on revisions.
In all honesty, most of these essays are dry and redundant. There are of course the regular grammatic errors, the inability to integrate a quote, the lack of skill of introducing an outside source. But, every once in a while, there is a witty kid, who (unbeknownst to him)is just naturally hilarious. Please note, this is a formal essay on the career of being a profession musician. The two sentences below are from the paragraph that is discussing the advantages and drawbacks of being a musician:
"(...)many find the ability to play an instrument to be very charming. It really tickles women's fancy".

I am glad to see that you are a teacher that has a sence of Humor. a Friend of mine from University told me a story that on an English Test he had to write a letter. so he addressed the Letter to Mrs. Karla Batusik (in hebrew - Her Ass is Cold). although he thought it was really funny, the teacher didn't find it as amusing, and she took points off for it.
An absolute natural that kid, I would say it got more like a giggle out of me. its just making me wonder what kind of subliminal messages they are picking up from there teacher!!!
