My Walls are HOT too!
I love my apartment. I love old buildings. They have character. It's hard to find a good sized place with crown moldings, hardwood floors, a bay window, a walk in closet, linen closet, bathroom storage, a wide kitchen, a large bedroom, a jacket closet by the door. Yeah...it's a reasonable size for under $1000 a month. Everything works and for the most part it's in great shape. There is however one huge problem...
I N S U L A T I O N
Right now, the digital thermometer in my living room reads 98.2 !!! I kid you not. I believe the high temperature in my neighborhood was 102...and we had it easy compared to Woodland Hills which got it at about 106 today. This is absurd. It should be illegal for an apartment to get this hot. Thank G-d my bedroom has a window A/C unit. However, being so hot outside, the room is about 80+ degrees with the AC! Argh...TikkunGer and I are sweating it out and managing and I think I can speak for us both when I say we are ready for cooler weather.
Bring it on...PLEEEEEEEASE.

whoa... it's sort of started to cool down here in NYC already.
We feel for you Tamara....it's just as HOT and humid way down here in Miami. I love it when it's hot but I am definitely ready for some cooler weather!
I'm not meaning to turn this into a pissing contest or anything, but I daresay the old trailer I'm camping out in here in the southern desert is hotter than your apartment. When I walked into it one day last week after a day of teaching, the thermometer registered 113 degrees! It took me an hour to cool that room off. Ugh!
