My Melons
Yes, I really am writing about my melon.
Last night I went to the women's circle at my synagogue. A little talk was given about Ruth and the relationship between her and her mot
her-in-law. That was followed by some mother-in-law jokes and then fruit carving.
The fruit here was done by the man teaching us how to do it. These two samples are not dyed at all. It's simply cut into different layers.
Here is my melon...enjoy. For my first shot, it's not horrible. You can see all the scraps and waste a
round my mat. You can also see my attempts at flowers made of turnips. They didn't turn out nearly as good as many of the other ladies.

Hey Tamara, You've got some very pretty melons there! No really. I'm betting it was a piece of work too. Cheers & Good Luck! 'VJ'
Very cool indeed!
Fruit sculptures can make or break a wedding- even if the food sucks you can still admire the crazy artwork that someone figured our to do with fruit.
Awesome job with your fruit! (And I love the title of your post...)
Your melon carvings came out awesome! I wish I could make mine look even 1/2 as cool as yours!
Wow- you have some awesome melons! Come by any time and help make shabbos special!
Gorgeous! Can you share the secrets?
Hey Thanks everyone. I don't know how to share the secrets and I can't remember the chef's name. But it's pretty easy. Just 3 basic carving tools. I'm sure you can find a ton of hints and tips online.
