My Melons

Yes, I really am writing about my melon.

Last night I went to the women's circle at my synagogue. A little talk was given about Ruth and the relationship between her and her mother-in-law. That was followed by some mother-in-law jokes and then fruit carving.
The fruit here was done by the man teaching us how to do it. These two samples are not dyed at all. It's simply cut into different layers.

Here is my melon...enjoy. For my first shot, it's not horrible. You can see all the scraps and waste around my mat. You can also see my attempts at flowers made of turnips. They didn't turn out nearly as good as many of the other ladies.

Fruit sculptures can make or break a wedding- even if the food sucks you can still admire the crazy artwork that someone figured our to do with fruit.

Hey Thanks everyone. I don't know how to share the secrets and I can't remember the chef's name. But it's pretty easy. Just 3 basic carving tools. I'm sure you can find a ton of hints and tips online.
